Jessica Phillips

Jessica is worshiper and follower of Jesus. He rescued her heart at age 6 but he rescued her calling, purpose and direction in her early 20's. Everyday God is still writing Jessica's story. It involves her husband, Brad, her daughter, Emery, their extended families. But the story is a tale of loss of life and dark grief. And the story ebs and weaves and the grief story is followed by weddings and laughter. And what comes next? A Baby! God sends us a baby to shape and teach and grow right in the midst of our loss and realizing that life actually moves forward. We didn't think it would again after he died. But life just did what it was supposed to do...and it went on. And hope is born again. Everything I write is based on this fact: I'm God's child, I'm alive today. So what do You want me to do for You? Because I want my contribution to matter. I want to leave a legacy.

episode 22: Back-To-School Special

We can hardly believe it’s that pivotal time again when summer sings its last hoorah and we shift gears up for a new school year. Between the two of us, we have four daughters: 11th grade, 7th grade, 4th grade, and 3rd grade – so none of this is new to us. In the south we say, “this ain’t our first rodeo.”

In this episode we take you through our back-to-school checklists, including what not to forget to order, lunch and dinner ideas, reminders and ideas for getting your kids back on a normal sleep/wake schedule. We added some things to your checklist from the notes our teen and tween daughters gave us – extra items that need to go into the backpack that you might not have thought of.

We hope these ideas and lists are helpful to you and get you thinking about your own lists and routines.

We’ve linked many of the items we suggested to make your shopping/ordering a tad bit easier.

Thank you for listening. We love your feedback so send us some of your best ideas and finds! And don’t forget to join our August Book Club! Details below.

episode 21: Book Club Wrap Up for "One True Loves" by Carly Fortune

Our SistersOnTheSamePage did not disappoint us with their July book pick!

“One True Loves” by Carly Fortune was everything you want a soapy, steamy, summer romance to be!

What did you think? Were you satisfied with the ending? Does Persy end up with the man you hoped she would?

episode 14: Guide to Summer Vacay

Episode 0014

“Guide to Summer Vacay”

1.     If you can arrive at your destination in 6-7 hours or less...DRIVE! Flights are an absolute nightmare. And, on average, you’ll spend 6-7 hours in the airport – from checking in, going through security, sitting at your gate, delays, delays, delays, finally getting in the air on a connecting flight, grabbing your luggage from the carrier and getting your vehicle whether you are renting or Ubering. If you can drive it in 6-7 hours, just drive – UNLESS you can fly directly to your destination without a connecting flight.

2.     If you fly, prepare your mind, heart, head, and spirit for DELAYS and cancellations and inconveniences.

3.     Do not take it out on the airport staff. They did not mess up your flight. They are dealing with you and everyone else whose flight just got screwed up. Be kind to them. Be patient. Smile.

4.     If you’re flying, here’s what to wear: something light and breathable. Dress in layers. Dress comfortably! I wore black joggers, a tank top, and a light, loose-fitting jacket/cardigan. Wear comfortable shoes! I wore cute, chunky flip-flops. If I got cold, I had fuzzy socks to slip on. The flights were mostly warm-to-hot, especially as we had to sit for a while. Once in the air, they cooled down but if you’re stuck on a tarmac, expect to be WARM. My feet get hot, so I’d rather have on flops b/c it keeps me a little cooler. And if I get cold, I pull out my fuzzy, warm socks and it gives me a little added warmth.

5.     If you’re flying, here’s what to pack in your carry-on: anything you might need if you’re stuck overnight without your luggage.

episode 13: Book Club Wrap-Up for "One True Loves"

Oh Sisters (and Brothers)...have we got a fun episode for you this week! On this first day of June, we welcome back our two favorite-sister-bookworms, Lauren & Lindi, from SistersOnTheSamePage.

In this episode, we deep dive our May pick, “One True Loves” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. This was an absolute LOVE from all four of the sisters on the show.

You can guess that the sisters span an emotional rollercoaster as they talk about love, heartbreak, and pivotal moments that split life in two. There’s a lot of laughing and cackling in this episode. There’s also some hand-gesture-sign-language from Lindi, a coughing bout from Lauren, a noisy ice machine, kids giggling in the background, and a buzzing fly. It’s wheels off and it’s so much fun!

The Sisters want YOUR feedback on this book. What did you love? How did you resonate with the main characters: Emma, Jesse, and Sam? Did you like the ending? Who would you have chosen if you were Emma? Tell the sisters what you think! Send the Sisters a message on Instagram, Facebook, or email them at: jennandjuicepodcast@gmail.com

You’ll DEFINITELY want to listen to the end because Lauren & Lindi reveal their June book club pick – and it’s one Jenn & Juice can’t wait to sink their teeth into!

Episode 8: Book Club

In this episode, Jenn & Juice introduce you to two sisters that they just know you’re going to love. Welcome, Lindi & Lauren. And we’re not just being cute when we say “sisters”, because these two ladies are really sisters, as in biology!

Growing up together, Lauren & Lindi shared an avid love for reading, and now in adulthood they constantly swap books with one another, which led them to start their own Instagram Book Recommendation Page that they perfectly named, “Sisters on the Same Page.” You MUST go follow them now!

Can this podcast handle FOUR sisters? Oh, you bet it can! Be warned that this episode is full of wheezy laughter set against great memories of the best books they’ve all consumed as well as the fabulous book Lauren & Lindi chose for our first month of book club!!!

We hope you enjoy using these products, too! Be sure to let us know which items you love enough to add to cart again in the future and which items weren’t worthy of your re-purchase.

As a reminder from this episode, we never want anyone to struggle under the weight of debt, so please don’t ADD TO CART if another purchase is going to hurt you financially! Believe us, it can wait! a little about us

Welcome to Jenn and Juice!

We are two sisters who grew up humbly in the trailer park

and in Sunday school

Where we weathered the storms of kitchen-scissor-bangs, purity culture, fundamentalism, culottes, flannel boards, and fellowship hall pot lucks.

We remain devout to Jesus as we continue to wrestle out our faith with fear and trembling

We hope to provide a safe space to have real, raw conversations about: everything and nothing, this and that, the secular and the sacred. You know, the juxtaposition of all things life!

We want to use what the Lord has given us: snark, quick wit, hard-earned wisdom. We promise to show up…wobbly on some days, strong on other days.

We aim to be a refreshing palette cleanse in a world starving for hope and light.

We’re like therapy you can afford! Cuz we’re free!

So, Welcome to Jenn ‘n Juice!

As always, we’re here to help a sister – and brother – out!

Juice, aka Jessica — Linda, aka Mom — Jenn, aka Jenni, the fiery redhead. // We obviously need new headshots but this photo makes us read younger than we are. So we posted it. Like and subscribe. We’re sure to influence you.
